- When is the best time to lay turf?
- Autumn and spring are ideal. Summer turfing works but needs daily watering for the first few weeks.
- How soon can I walk on new turf?
- Keep off it for two to three weeks, and avoid heavy use for the first couple of months while roots knit in.
- How much watering does new turf need?
- Generously every day for the first fortnight unless it rains properly. Under-watering in week one is the most common reason new turf fails.
- Does the price include topsoil?
- A skim of soil conditioner is normal; importing significant topsoil to correct levels is extra and should be quoted after a site look.
